If you are an Ontario Weightlifter and/or have competed Nationally, you will no doubt have had the pleasure of encountering Jill in one of the following endeavours: competing with Jill, being officiated by Jill, officiating with Jill, coached by Jill, coach-adjudicated by Jill, instructed by Jill in the NCCP coaching course, or enjoyed the company and hospitality of Jill and Ken.

 

Jill has been a member of the Canadian Masters Weightlifting Federation since 1990 and has served in the weightlifting community in various capacities; locally (President and coach -Blue Mountain Weightlifting Club), provincially (technical official, President of the OWA, host and organizer of several Canadian Masters Weightlifting Championships) or internationally (International Technical Official at numerous international masters championships, organizing committee member of the 1996 World Masters, a supervisor at the 2015 Toronto Pan American Weightlifting Championships in Oshawa, Ontario).

 

Jill’s competitive participation at thirteen World Masters (the first one was in 1993), eleven Canadian Masters and thirteen Pan American Masters has elevated her into the Canadian Masters Hall of Fame with 226 points and one of our top ten inductees. Jill has also been inducted into World Masters Hall of Fame, the Pan American Masters Hall of Fame, and her own community’s Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame.

 

Jill joins her husband Ken (also a Hall of Fame member of the CMWFHCM), in achieving the stature of our Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.  The Millers continue to spread the “gospel” of weightlifting, at all levels, in their new Province of New Brunswick.  Jill and Ken were recently appointed as ITO Advisors to the CMWFHCM and serve on its Board’s Advisory Committee.

 

Jill is an admirable example of a member whose voluntarism continues to build strong professional ties between the CWFHC and the CMWFHCM. She has always been, and continues to be, a well-respected member of the international masters weightlifting community.

 

We are proud to have Jill in our community of Canadian Masters weightlifters and with the honour and respect befitting a member of her status, award her our Lifetime Achievement Award.

Si vous êtes un haltérophile en Ontario et/ou avez compétitionné au niveau national, vous aurez sans doute aurez eu le plaisir de rencontrer Jill dans une des circonstances suivantes: compétitionner avec Jill, être arbitré par Jill, agir en tant qu’officier technique avec Jill, être coaché par Jill, jugé en tant qu’entraîneur par Jill, être un étudiant de Jill sur le cours d’entraîneur de NCCP, ou avoir savouré la compagnie et l’hospitalité de Jill et Ken.

 

Jill a aussi été un membre de la Fédération Haltérophilie Canadienne Maîtres depuis 1990 et a servi la communauté d’haltérophilie  dans une variété de rôles; au niveau local (Présidente et entraîneure -Blue Mountain Weightlifting Club), provincial (officier technique, Présidente de la OWA, hôte et organisatrice de plusieurs Championnats Canadiens d’Haltérophilie Maîtres) ou international (Officier Technique International à plusieurs Championnats internationaux Maîtres, membre du comité organisateur des Championnats Mondiaux Maîtres 1996, une superviseure aux Jeux Panaméricains d’Haltérophilie de Toronto 2015 à Oshawa, Ontario).

 

La participation compétitive de Jill à treize Championnats Mondiaux Maîtres (le premier en 1993), onze Championnats Canadiens Maîtres et treize Championnats PanAméricains Maîtres l’ont aidée à entrer le Temple de la Renommée Canadien avec 226 points en tant qu’une de nos 10 plus hauts membres intronisés. Jill a aussi été intronisée au Temple de la Renommée Maîtres du Monde, celui PanAméricain Maîtres, et le Temple de la Renommée des Sports de sa propre communauté de Collingwood.

 

Jill se joint à son mari Ken (également un membre du Temple de la Renommée de la CMWFHCM), en devenant récipiendaire du Prix de Réalisation de Durée de Vie.  Les Millers continuent à répandre le “gospel” de l’haltérophilie, à tous les niveaux, dans leur nouvelle province du Nouveau-Brunswick.  Jill et Ken ont récemment été nommés en tant qu’aviseurs OTI de la CMWFHCM  et servent sur le Comité Aviseur de son Conseil.

 

Jill est un exemple admirable d’un membre dont le bénévolat continue à créer des liens professionnels solides entre la CWFHC et la CMWFHCM. Elle a toujours été, et continue d’être, un membre très respecté de la communauté internationale Maîtres d’haltérophilie.

 

Nous sommes fiers de compter Jill dans notre communauté d’haltérophiles canadiens Maîtres et avec l’honneur et le respect appropriés pour un membre de son statut, lui décerner le Prix de Réalisation de Durée de Vie.
